About Paris Gare du Nord
Paris Gare du Nord Station is situated directly in the centre of Paris with close proximity to many of the attractions Paris has to offer, like Montmartre and the Sacré-Coeur.
The French architect Jacques Hittorff designed the terminus station and it was completed in 1866, however service was already resumed in 1864.
Today the station is the busiest in Europe with trains leaving for destinations within France, mostly the north, as well as many European destinations like the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and of course the UK. You can also catch the Paris Métro and the Regional Express Network (RER) from here to get to stops within Paris and the suburbs.
As you would expect from such a busy station it has numerous services and refreshment possibilities available such as cafés, restaurant, shops, ATMs, registration of baggage, toilets and baby changing facilities, an exchange office and many other amenities. Hence spending some time at Paris Gare du Nord Station is not a hardship. Wireless internet access is now available everywhere at the station and is free for Business Premier travellers and Eurostar carte blanche holders who can also make use of a dedicated departure lounge.
