Eurostar tickets - booking and flexibility
Within each of the 3 different "Travel Options" - Business Premier, Leisure Select and Standard - you will find further fare types, in particular regarding the flexibility of your ticket.
- Non-flexible tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
- Semi-flexible tickets are non-refundable, but they can be changed before departure for a fee.
- Fully flexible tickets are fully refundable and fully exchangeable.
So for example, a Standard ticket may be purchased for £69 return, but these fares are only available as a "Non Flexible" type - travel times cannot be changed and you must travel on the train you have booked originally.
Some of the limited flexibility fares also include:
- Midweek day return - you must return on a weekday
- Minimum 1 night - you must stay over at least 1 night
- Sat Night - your stay must include a Saturday night
The more flexible fares "Semi Flexible" and "Fully Flexible" are of course more expensive. A Standard ticket Semi Flexible fare starts at around £135.
Eurostar - other ticket types
Eurostar offer other special fare types, such as Senior (for those over 60), Youth (passengers under 26), and Child (Aged 4 to 11).
The Night Clubber fare is popular for those who only intend to stay in Paris for 1 evening. Usually these fares only allow you to travel on a Saturday or Sunday, after 16:00, and return the next morning, hence the Night Clubber label. These tickets are available from £50 return. London to Paris - Eurostar train tickets
Finding your way through the different ticket types can be confusing, so don't forget:
1. Think of the class of ticket you need. Eurostar call this your "Travel Option" - Business, Leisure Select or Standard.
2. Consider the flexibility you need for your journey - the cheaper tickets offer the least flexibility.
3. If you are (or travelling with) children aged between 4 to 11, someone over 60 or someone under 26, then you may find suitable ticket deals for cheaper options.
