Eurostar to Frankfurt

Frankfurt-am-Main is the location of all the major business headquarters, such as the German federal Bank, the European Central Bank, and the Frankfurt Stock exchange. And because it is a hub for business, the train station and airport are some of the busiest in all of Europe. But it’s not all work, work, work! Many events take place throughout the year, particularly at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre. Some of the most popular include the Frankfurt International Music Festival and the Frankfurt International Book Fair. It’s a bustling, exciting modern city, but on the flip side it also has some interesting history that has been well preserved. It is also one of Europe’s most green cities. Visiting Frankfurt

A definite must-see during your stay is the Römerberg. Head straight for this beautiful square and you’ll find a hub of cultural and historical sites. The houses surrounding the square are traditional timber, giving it a wonderful quaint feel. The square is the location of the Weishaupt Art Gallery and City Hall, and it’s a great place to sit and truly experience the city life. Once you’ve had your fill, take a stroll to the Museum and House of Goethe. It’s a great place to visit for an afternoon to find out more about the writer’s life in bourgeois eighteenth century Germany.

If you’re a big fan of cityscapes, head straight to the top of Norman Foster’s Commerzbank Tower. It’s Europe’s tallest skyscraper! You can take a trip to the fifty-sixth floor and see incredible views all across the city, especially if you visit at sunset. But it’s definitely not for those with a fear of heights!

And if you’re travelling with the family, not trip to Frankfurt would be complete without a visit to the Frankfurt Zoological Gardens. Keep the kids entertained with the animals. Or for a bit more peace and quiet, sit in the Von Bethmann Park on a sunny day with a picnic for a bit of people watching. Its hours of fun, and definitely worth a day trip.

Frankfurt by Eurostar Trains

If you're thinking of traveling to Frankfurt, remember that you can get there easily and quickly with one of the Eurostar’s connection services. This means you'll have to change trains at some point. Eurostar trains depart from St Pancras International, a very easy-to-get-to destination in London. Your simplest option of connection services after getting on the train at London is to change Paris Gare du Nord, from one platform to another for a connection Thalys train to Cologne. From Cologne, an ICE will take you straight to Frankfurt. Alternatively, you can catch a connecting Cologne train from Brussels.
